Maui ribs are from the same cut as short ribs but instead of being cut 2″ thick, they are thin cut similar to thick cut bacon. These are best enjoyed marinated and grilled. Also known as Korean short ribs or flanken cut short ribs.
The original Maui rib came from a Korean market called Azeka's market in Maui. They sold a style of Korean kalbi style ribs. Maui ribs' taste comes from the marinade that typically consists of soy sauce, brown sugar, and ginger.
